About us
We believe that the Church of Christ at Mountain View exists to fulfill five basic purposes:
1. TO FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
2. TO EQUIP THE SAINTS FOR WORKS OF MINISTRY.
"It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13
3. TO MULTIPLY AND REPRODUCE DISCIPLES.
"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." II Timothy 2:2
4. TO GATHER TOGETHER TO WORSHIP CHRIST, OUR LORD.
"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25 "They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42
5. TO LEARN “ALL THINGS” CHRIST TAUGHT THROUGH THE APOSTLES.
