Welcome to the Church of Christ at Mountain View,

We are a group of new covenant Christians striving to be conformed into the image of Christ and to restore the church of the Bible. That church was not perfect because it was made up of people just like you and me. But when one is “in Christ” he is in Christ’s kingdom on earth, and the Word teaches we are “holy and blameless in His sight” (Rom. 3:20; Eph. 1:4; Col. 1:22).

Mountain View is not a denomination. We do not belong to a voting convention or have a denominational headquarters on earth. When we see biblical truths that need to be restored we don’t have to write the Vatican City, Anderson, Indiana, Salt Lake City or anywhere else for permission to change. We already have that permission from our head and commander-in-chief, Jesus Christ, who is seated on David’s throne at God’s right hand (Acts 2:30-36). We have evangelists and elders (Eph. 4:11-16) who are building on the foundation of the apostles and prophets (Eph. 2:20) under the headship of Jesus (Eph. 1:22; Col. 1:18).

We strive to hold conservatively to the Word of truth and to love at the same time. Most seem to err on one side or the other. I know many brethren that seem to be all truth with little love. I know others who seem to be all love and little truth. They never speak the “thus saith the Lord” truths from His Word for fear of offending someone. Jesus displayed both in His walk with God and man. John 1:14 says, He was “full of grace and truth.” That is not an oxymoron or a contradictory statement. He proved you can be full of both in your life! Christians are commanded to “preach the truth in love” (Eph. 4:15). We take pride here in loving souls for whom Christ died and for loving His Word at the same time.
